Millennium Gallery Sheffield | Millennium Gallery Sheffield Photographer | I
All photographers have their favourite venue and I’m no exception – however I do find it’s always exciting to be photographing at a new location. I have been spoilt recently as this was to be my third new venue in a row! Surprisingly it was my first Millennium Gallery Sheffield wedding so at this point I must thank the wonderful Debbie & Andy for giving me the opportunity to experience this superb quirky venue after meeting them at the Galleries Wedding Fair.
For those unfamiliar the Millennium Gallery is an art gallery and museum in the centre of Sheffield, England. Opened in April 2001 as part of Sheffield’s Heart of the City project it is located in the city centre and is a super venue to be married.
Our wedding day started at the St Pauls Mercure hotel situated adjacent to the Galleries how easy is that? We met with Debbie as the ladies readied themselves for the day ahead. The room at Mercure offered lovely natural light always an advantage as we caught those little dress details and the general intro shoots at the start of the wedding day.
Back at the venue we were there to great Andy and his groomsmen who were all clearly looking forward to the day ahead and all looked very smart in blue with some great funky ties! The main ceremony room looked amazing and the couple’s seaside theme was a nice touch too.
As guests arrived we made our way back to Mercure as beautiful bride Debbie and her bridesmaid made their way to the ceremony via the Winter Gardens receiving a very warm welcome from the public as they did so. The ceremony itself was a wonderful occasion and was heartfelt by everyone.
Confetti and the group photos were taken on the large balcony space which overlooked the city and was a wonderful area for guests to relax soak up the atmosphere and have a drink or two. The garden area and the side of the balcony was a great area for the smaller group photos.
Prior to the wedding breakfast we used locations in, around and close to the venue for bride and groom only pictures and it was great to be able to use the different surroundings, textures and colours. We timed it right as there was a heavy rain shower during the meal but thankfully it was brief. With the wedding breakfast concluded followed by some great speeches we photographed guests both inside and outdoors as they relaxed into the evening celebrations.
It was a lovely evening so of course we took advantage to take more bride and groom only photos with the cityscape as a backdrop this led straight into cutting of the cake and a lively first dance.
It had been a truly wonderful wedding day and I would like to congratulate Debbie & Andy again, enjoy your sneak preview.
